LeeAnn Sutton: Teaching Studio
Studio Policy
Lessons may be 30, 45 or 60 minutes in length. 30-minute lessons are perfect for absolute beginners and 60 minutes are usually appropriate for intermediate advanced students.
Tuition is collected on a monthly basis and is expected in full at your lesson during the first week of the month. Rates (per month) are $100/ 30-minute lesson, $170/ 45-minute lesson and $190/ 60 minutes lesson.
There are no credits, make-ups or refunds. In the case of illness or emergency, a make-up lesson may be given at the discretion of the teacher.
Students arriving more than 10 minutes late are considered absent without notification and are not entitled to a make-up.
Any lessons missed by the teacher will be made up or refunded at the end of the month.
A teaching schedule, outlining holidays and vacations will be distributed in September and January. Monthly rates will be adjusted accordingly.
All students are required to have their own instrument. If a prospective students needs to rent or purchase an instrument I can make recommendations on where to acquire one. All students are also required to have rosin, a dust cloth for cleaning the instrument off immediately after use, a notebook for lesson assignments and parent/teacher communication and a music stand for practice at home. Students may also be asked to purchase music books and sheet music, a tuner, a metronome, new or a different brand of strings, and blank staff paper.
Regular practice is expected of each student. The time and content will vary according to the student’s experience and age. Practice goals will be discussed on an individual basis. Students may be asked to keep a practice journal.
Participation in studio events, although not mandatory is strongly encouraged.
